Position Overview:
Provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a Physician, and adheres to all medical staff rules and bylaws for the Health System. Provides specialized care to obstetrical patients in triage, before, during, and after labor and delivery as well as assisting the physician during cesarean sections. Specific elements are generally outlined below and may be found in the Standardized Procedures and Health Care Management for the Certified Nurse Midwife.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Masters of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Midwifery
- Current CA Registered Nurse License
- Current CA Nurse Midwife Furnishing License
- Current CA Certified Nurse Midwife
- Current Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (within 90 days of hire)
