What role you will play in our team

We are seeking a candidate to join a research team investigating the behavior and future evolution of energy and electrical power systems. The successful candidate must have a strong background and demonstrated scientific excellence in energy systems modeling, including modeling of the electric power sector. Experience developing and using large-scale energy and/or power generation system models, familiarity with relevant optimization methods, and mathematical simulation software is necessary. A PhD in operations research, engineering, physics, or a related discipline is required.  Postdoctoral experience in an academic, industry, or government setting is highly desired.  The position is located in Annandale, NJ.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a strong scientific background with the following qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in operations research, engineering, physics, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art models and approaches in one or more areas related to energy systems analysis
  • Ability to identify and engage leading external experts on energy modeling
  • Experience translating complex scientific information into digestible insights for non-experts
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Post-doctoral or related experience
  • Outstanding analytical and communication skills
