What role you will play in our team

The Trade Compliance Office (TCO) supports ExxonMobil’s global value chains and centralized organizations in maintaining compliance with laws and regulations in the areas of trade sanctions and export controls. TCO is comprised of Trade Compliance Advisors and Data Analysts located in Houston.

The Trade Compliance Advisors use their expertise to :

  • Advise business line staff w/r/t interpretation and application of the regulations
  • Advise Supply Chain management regarding developments in the Trade law environment and implications for ExxonMobil
  • Assess and continuously improve ExxonMobil’s trade sanctions and export controls compliance program

The Global Trade Sanctions Operations Lead oversees day-to-day trade sanctions compliance screening operations enterprise-wide and provides day-to-day work direction to the Houston-based Data Analysts.

This Trade Compliance Advisor position will also encompass the role of a Global Trade Sanctions Operations Lead with the following responsibilities:

  • Providing direction and oversight to a team of Houston-based Data Analysts executing daily screening operations enterprise-wide
  • Overseeing Restricted Party Screening-as-a-Service operations for new and existing customers, vendors, banks and vessels enterprise-wide
  • Working directly with process owners to steward ScaaS process health, KPIs, and improvement opportunities
  • Providing interpretation services of restricted party screening results to business lines
  • Leading and developing collaboration/communication strategies to increase awareness of the Trade Sanctions & Export Controls compliance program
  • Collaborating with and fostering a close partnership with Business Lines and Compliance Law
  • Developing, maintaining, and documenting processes and tools in support of export controls and trade sanctions compliance
  • Advising business lines regarding the proper application of trade sanctions & export control regulations
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements in the overall trade compliance program
  • Developing and delivering trade sanctions & export controls training
  • Providing export control classification and jurisdiction reviews
